Outreach

Our outreach is geared towards students from grade school to undergrad so that we can promote inclusivity in chemistry at all age levels. We hope to make students at all ages feel like they can pursue chemistry and that they would belong.

COrGI Family Science at the Library

2nd Saturday of the month
Every Second Saturday of the month we will do STEM activities with kids at the library. We’ve talked about polymers like silly putty, friction through space crafts, and electrostatics with balloons! If you are interested in joining this month or if you have ideas for fun chemistry activities email cornellcorgi@gmail.com

Volunteer Opportunities:

CCMR has been partnering with the public library and Sciencenter to create Take and Make STEM kits. These are bagged kits, using simple materials, that kids can pick up and do the activity at home. They also include instructions with an explanation of the science going on. You can find ones that we have done on the library website:

They are planning on doing a kit for February and am asking to see if anyone has an idea for an activity that would make a good kit. If you do, please contact Mark Walsh (mcw96@cornell.edu).
